The Trans-corridor trek
Known for its dense and rich flora and fauna, this corridor forest linking Ranomafana and Andringitra is an outstanding spot.
Our trek starts at Ambohimahamasina, a village at about 40kms east of Ambalavao for a 5 day real adventure through this beautiful corridor.
It is a mixture of cultural experience and nature adventure from the highland to the eastern slope – in order to reach Manakara – a town alongside the Indian Ocean.
Ambohimahamasina is quite a developed rural village compared to its neighbouring villages due to the presence of electrical power, schools and its agricultural infrastructure. It also encounters many cultural sites.
Due to its geographical position, it has part of the highlands, the savannah of the south and the forest of the east. A great place to immerse oneself into the Malagasy environment and way of life as you will be hosted by the locals.
While heading east, you will be immersed into the wilderness of the tropical forest of Madagascar.
The tour involves cultural experiences, active hiking and wildlife safari as well as adventures. The participation of the local community in our expedition gives another dimension to our experience as we our trip will contribute to the local development.
Through this trip, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the funding of primary schools or hospitals if you wish.
At your arrival, you will be back to the civilization and you can enjoy some time at the beach, relaxing by the Indian Ocean.
This can be combined with our Overland Great South tour, once you reach Ranomafana National Park and then continue southwards to Isalo National Park and the RN7.
