This route encounters the rarest species of flora and fauna of the Malagasy rainforest and will give you deep understanding of the richness of the living natural history of this 7th continent.
Golden because it is precious both to Madagascar but also to the worldwide conservations.
The introduction to the Malagasy nature will be done through Andasibe National Park, one of the most accessible reserve but also shelters the biggest lemurs of the world called the Indri amongst other animals and plants. Thereafter, you will reach the north-eastern coast of Madagascar by flight – where the rainforest is deep and dense with high level of endemicity – including the Ghost Lemurs.
The second part is quite an active trek, climbing up to the Marojejy National Park, where a certain level of physical conditions is required due to the state of the trails and the air humidity saturation inside the deep rainforest.
Leaving the north-eastern coast – after some local cultural immersion in Andapa, we proceed on for a visit to Daraina, a small reserve managed by the local community to see the very rare Daraina Sportive Lemurs and Microcebus Tavaratra. A long and bumpy road is waiting for us throughout typical villages until Ambilobe. The third major part is the discovery of the Tsingy of Ankarana, also home for endemic species of lemurs and plants – and most known for its cathedral grottos and the exceptional Tsingy rock formation.
The last part contains two options of beach holidays: Nosy Be Archipelagos or Sakalava Bay.
> Option 1 : getting to Nosy Be – to relax and enjoy the beach and other sea excursions.
> Option 2 : staying at the Sakalava Bay. One can take to take advantage of some kite surfing lessons or practicing inside this beautiful and peaceful bay.
